About Kittens
Kittens is an independent cat care reference site for people who share their home with a cat. Rather than publishing a chronological blog, we organize everything around the two things owners actually think about: how old the cat is (kitten, adult or senior) and what is worrying you right now (feeding, health, behavior, grooming, litter, home safety and more). Every entry answers one specific question, opens with a short quick answer, and then gives the reasoning and detail behind it.
Our editorial approach. Each question we cover starts from something owners genuinely search for — how much to feed an adult cat, why a cat kneads, what a single sneeze means. Answers are researched against publicly available veterinary and feline welfare material (life-stage guidelines, veterinary school handouts, shelter and poison-control resources), then rewritten in plain language: no jargon, no scare tactics, and no brand recommendations. When the honest answer is that it varies and a vet should look at your cat, we say exactly that instead of inventing a number.
How we keep it honest. Kittens exists for education, not diagnosis. We do not know your cat, we cannot examine it, and nothing on this site creates a veterinarian-client relationship. We do not sell pet food, supplements or veterinary services, and no brand pays for a mention inside an answer. The site is funded by advertising, which is kept separate from editorial content and never influences what we write.
Corrections and updates. Cat care knowledge changes, and our pages change with it. When guidance shifts, or when a reader tells us something is wrong, unclear or out of date, we revise the entry instead of leaving it online. If you spot a mistake, email us at [email protected] with the page address and we will review it. New questions are added on an ongoing basis, so this collection keeps growing.
